Screen-time guides
Updated 2026-08-15
Use the screen-time guides to separate three decisions: the family rule, the Apple Screen Time setup and any earned-time reward. Start with supported devices and a rule the child can repeat back.
KlusQuest can use Apple Family Controls to release selected apps for earned minutes and relock them when time ends. Permission, app selection, daily caps and quiet hours still need deliberate setup; voucher mode is the manual fallback.
Turn a clear family agreement into missions children can complete and parents approve.
Plan at a glance
| Best starting point | Choose the page that produces the next decision or household action |
| Expected output | One short plan, checklist or comparison to try this week |
| Keep it small | Do not introduce several new chore and screen-time rules at once |
A practical checklist
- 1 — Confirm the child uses a supported iPhone or iPad.
- 2 — Write the family rule before changing device settings.
- 3 — Grant and verify Screen Time permission through the intended family setup.
- 4 — Select a small app set and test unlock plus relock behavior.
- 5 — Record the manual fallback for permission loss or an urgent exception.
Example for the first week
Keep school and communication apps outside the selected entertainment set, then test one game with five earned minutes.
Common question
Does KlusQuest merely count minutes?
With Family Controls permission it can release selected apps and relock them; without permission it can track a voucher that the adult enforces.
