KlusQuest is a parental controls app from NETKREATIVES BV, a company based in Belgium. Our registered address is Volaardestraat 88, 9200 Dendermonde, Belgium, and our company number is BE 0638.905.445.

What data we process and why

We process data to make the app work, sync your family's devices, and improve our service. We do not show ads in the app, track your location, or read your messages. Advertising measurement happens only on a parent's phone and only with that parent's permission, as described below.

Account and Family Data

To use KlusQuest, a parent creates an account using Sign in with Apple. To synchronize devices within your family, we process data including a household ID, family member profiles (nickname and avatar), tasks, coin balances, requests, photos, and records needed for push notifications. This information is stored with our service provider, Supabase, so that all connected devices stay up to date.

Photo Proof

If you require photo proof for a task, the picture is uploaded to your family's private storage area. Only members of your household can view these photos through the app.

Purchases and Subscriptions

App Store purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive or store your payment card details. We use a service called RevenueCat to help us manage transaction records and verify who has an active subscription. This information is linked to the parent's account.

App Usage Analytics

To understand how our app is used and to fix problems, we collect pseudonymous operational data. This includes a random installation identifier and events like when a feature is used. This data is sent to our own systems running on Supabase.

A selected set of events related to parent and household activity is also automatically sent to our analytics provider, TelemetryDeck. This is not optional. This data helps us improve the app and is not used to track you. We do not send personal content like task names or nicknames, and we do not collect analytics on your child's specific activity for this purpose.

Advertising Measurement (Parent's Phone Only)

We advertise KlusQuest on Facebook and Instagram. To see which ads lead to an install, the app contains software from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. It stays switched off unless a parent, on their own phone, chooses "Allow" when Apple asks whether KlusQuest may track. On a child's device it is never switched on and Apple's question is never asked.

If you allow it, Meta receives: that the app was installed and opened, that an account was created, that a free trial or subscription started (product, price and currency), your device's advertising identifier, and technical details such as device model, operating system version, language and time zone. Meta may combine this with other data it holds to measure and improve advertising, and acts as a controller under its own privacy policy. We never send anything about your child, the chores, rewards or Screen Time.

You can withdraw your permission at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security, Tracking. Sharing then stops the next time the app opens.

Screen Time

When you use the screen time reward feature, the app uses Apple's Screen Time APIs on your device to manage access to the apps you select.

Data Processors

We use third-party services to provide KlusQuest. Our main processors are Supabase (for data storage and sync), RevenueCat (for subscription management), and TelemetryDeck (for analytics).

With a parent's permission, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. receives advertising measurement data as described above.

These processors may store or handle data in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When this happens, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms to ensure your data is protected.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your family's data as long as your account is active. You can request to delete your account and all associated data from within the app.

Photos submitted as proof are scheduled for deletion after the corresponding task has been approved or rejected. This deletion may not be instantaneous.

This Website

If you consent, our website (klusquest.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to collect general visitor data like page views, referring sites, and clicks to the App Store. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the 'Analytics settings' on the website.

For security and operational purposes, our web servers may keep temporary technical logs that can include your IP address and browser type.

Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and the right to data portability.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be) or your local data protection authority.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on different legal grounds depending on the purpose:

Performance of a contract: We process data necessary to provide the core features of the app you have subscribed to, such as syncing tasks and profiles.

Legitimate interests: We process operational analytics and security data to maintain, secure, and improve our service.

Consent: We process website analytics data only after you give your consent. We share advertising measurement data with Meta only after a parent allows tracking in Apple's prompt.

Legal obligations: We may process data if required to do so by law.
