Savings goal planner for children

Updated 2026-09-08

The savings-goal planner subtracts an entered saved amount from a target and divides the remainder by a planned weekly contribution. It shows whole estimated weeks in the browser, without creating an account, holding money, adding interest or guaranteeing future contributions.

The estimate makes the effect of a weekly amount visible, but it is not a bank forecast. A family can change the target or rate and then discuss whether the plan remains realistic before printing the result.

Turn a clear family agreement into missions children can complete and parents approve.

A practical checklist

Example for the first week

A €30 goal with €5 saved and €2.50 per week shows €25 remaining and an estimate of ten weeks.

Common question

Does the estimate include interest, missed weeks or changing contributions?

No. It is simple arithmetic using the four current inputs. It does not model interest, dates, missed payments, fees or changes in the weekly amount.
